SAIL IN A RHEA 800 Wheelhouse
A traditional fishing and cruising in exceptional comfort and safety. The deep cockpit, walkaround-type deck, a fine choice of materials and manufacturing quality, excellent passage through choppy waters, high stability, all contribute to navigation in complete safety on the RHEA 800 Wheelhouse.
The hull, designed by marine architects Joubert-Nivelt, guarantees good seaworthiness, excellent handling in choppy seas, excellent courseholding, and terrific stability. Maximum speed is 26 knots. Comfort and safety too from the protected rudder and propeller, safety glass windows, hydraulic helm, 450-litre fuel tank capacity, and the optional propeller access well that allows clearing a rope or net in complete safety. The twin-engined version allows easy beaching on the two keels that protect the propellers and rudders effectively.
The forward cabin has a V-shaped double berth, a hanging locker, and various places for stowage. The head has a wash-basin, shower, and sea toilet. A sewage holding tank can be fitted as an option. The wheelhouse has been fitted out in a very modular way. The helmsman’s seat can be adjusted fore-and-aft. The dinette, seating 5 people easily, converts into either a double berth or a bench seat for the co-helmsman. Lockers under the bench seat and a drawer offer plenty of stowage.
The galley is equipped with a two-burner stove, a 65-litre refrigerator, and a sink with pumped water from a 135-litre fresh-water tank. Cupboards, drawers, and shelves make living aboard practical when cruising. The very effective ventilation is via 2 sliding doors, one opening light on the port side, and a deck hatch. An optional sliding roof hatch will bring light and extra ventilation to the saloon.
Everything has been designed for enjoyment and efficiency : a very deep cockpit, ‘walkaround’ deck layout, emergency tiller, optional dual controls. The driving position has a sliding door to starboard, making for easy deck access. All types of fishing are possible in complete safety.
Quality & safety
In the cockpit, the large engine casing gives access to storage lockers as well as the engine itself – all completely perfectly accessible. A second large stern locker has room to stow all the equipment you’ll need. The cockpit’s three folding benches provide comfortable seating for 6 or 8 people. The deep cockpit, the handrails around the deck-house, the choice of materials used for the generously-proportioned components, and the sturdy, meticulously-finished, high-quality construction all make for safe cruising.
