The Tiara 4000/4300 Sovran was a game-changer in the boating industry, the first American boat to be designed exclusively for Volvo’s then-new — and soon to be revolutionary — IPS drive system. Pod drives don’t just outperform conventional inboard power; they also require less engine room space. In the 4000/4300 Sovran, Tiara engineers were able to use this extra space by extending the mid-cabin bulkhead aft, beneath the bridge deck to create a full-size guest cabin complete with its own head. The Sovran’s luxurious interior, an appealing blend of satin Teak cabinets, Ultraleather upholstery, and hardwood flooring, features an open salon with convertible settee to starboard and full-service galley to port. The forward stateroom has a queen island berth, with ensuite head including a stall shower, and a flat-screen TV. The Sovran’s open cockpit features forward and rear-facing lounge seating with a port side table. Note that the hardtop is fully integrated into the windshield. Volvo 370hp diesels cruise at 22–23 knots. One of Tiara’s best-selling models ever, over 100 were sold. This low-hour example is ready to be enjoyed by her next owners.
Originally, these yachts did not come with joystick control for the IPS system. This was added at a later date at a reported cost of $16,000 USD.
This broker delivered the yacht from Campbell River, 120 nautical miles to Sidney on April 10, 2022. The yacht ran great and tracked beautifully in following seas.
