The deck layout of the Surfhunter 29 is that of the classic hardtop New England cuddy cabin. Her cabin is forward and accessed from the companionway between the helm seat and L-settee. Next aft under the hardtop is the L-shaped cushioned settee incorporating the front of the engine box. A full-width, forward-facing cushioned settee is at the transom, opposite an aft facing seat on the engine box.
The helm station is to starboard and offers excellent visibility either standing or sitting in helm seat. All controls are within easy reach and logically laid out. The electrical breaker panel is outboard of the helm seat.
Through the forward folding cuddy companionway door is the spacious cabin finished in white gelcoat with cherry trim. Accommodations for two include a V-berth with cushions upholstered in Sunbrella blue and tan ribbed fabric, full galley to port, and spacious head to starboard. The below decks accommodations on the Surfhunter 29 are extremely well thought out and offer excellent utilization of space for weekends and light cruising.
A full length V-Berth with filler provide ample sleeping space for two. A large Lewmar overhead hatch with screen and three Lewmar opening ports with screens provide excellent natural ventilation.
The large, full stand up head is aft to starboard and features a large Corian vanity, plenty of storage, and an opening port with screen. There is also a solar powered ventilator on the overhead for continuous active ventilation. The telescoping fixture at the sink hangs on the bulkhead along with a removable shower curtain to convert the space into a shower. The molded nonskid shower pan is easy to clean and features an automatic sump pump.
The galley is to port at the base of the companionway steps and provides functional and more than adequate amenities and storage for weekend cruising and entertaining.

The popularity of our Surfhunter 25 generated interest in a larger version, one with a bit more capacity and length, for longer open-water crossings and cosy overnighting. Surfhunter 29 is more generous in cockpit and accommodations, offering standing headroom below as well as an enclosed head with shower. With the longer length, this extra volume is still presented in an attractive low profile that draws admiration wherever this Surfhunter goes.
