The Hallberg-Rassy 42 F is well known to be a comfortable cruising yacht for which distance is no object. The HR 42 F has a rugged reputation to suit the yachtsman who is not interested in the latest regatta gimmicks but in a proper yacht with more than respectable speed to take you anywhere and anytime in any condition in great comfort and safety.
Rachel Ann is in remarkably good condition which will become very evident soon as you step aboard. She has been lightly used and well taken care of and it shows.
This HR42 spent her first five years in fresh water and stored inside for the winters. Her current owner bought her in 2005 and she has been based here on the Chesapeake Bay. She has been mostly used for local sailing and stored on the hard covered up for the winter.
Rachel Anne is well suited for shorthanded sailing with ease. Her set up includes inmast furling, bow thruster and of course the HR signature easy chairs and air conditioning for utmost comfort. Additionally, she has the shoal draft keel option that makes her the perfect boat for the East Coast and beyond.
This is a unique opportunity to find a Hallberg-Rassy of this size and vintage that has not been cruised extensively and in such good condition.

Hallberg-Rassy yachts are designed with safety and ease of maintenance foremost in mind. Nothing exemplifies this more than the engine room. This is a very spacious engine room which is accessed by two large, insulated and rubber-sealed doors. This provides far superior access to both the main engine and the generator, as well as to all auxiliary equipment, including the pressure water system equipment and hot water tank, than that afforded on most other cruising yachts of this size.
