There’s always fire in your soul when you know you have found THE perfect boat. Especially when it’s a one-of-a-kind unique vessel with creative engineering and craftsmanship that makes it stand out. Let me explain to you just how unique this vessel is.
The 1999 Gozzard 44-foot sailboat is the only Gozzard designed with 3 private staterooms. The Gozzard has interiors that are extremely versatile. It offers the options to have folding bulkheads that can give you the option between totally privacy or open interior which can be switched to either in less then minutes. There are custom crafted recesses where the door handles fit into the bulkheads which allow the doors to fold flush against the bulkhead to almost be invisible.

Features at a glance:
The interior in this Gozzard is finished in satin varnished North American Cherry and the cabin sole is solid team with basswood inserts. There are cedar lined hanging lockers and the doors for all the storage cabinets are louvered for ventilation. There are many areas for storage spaces throughout the boat. There are screens in all of the companionway, hatches & port. There are 4 very large dorade vents and 16 opening ports.
Forward Cabin: The forward cabin is designed to be a convertible main saloon. The settees line each side hinge together to form a queen size inland birth. It can also be used for two wide singles. They also can be hinged up to form two bunks with lee clothes. It can be converted several different ways! It can sleep a couple, two singles, four singles or a couple and two singles all meanwhile being comfortable.
There is also the inlaid coffee table in the center of the saloon that folds open to be the base for the dining table. The large cherry dining table attaches securely to the raised leaf of the table to form a beautiful perfect sized dining table to have meals on. The coffee table also opens up for more storage. Storage is KEY! Who doesn’t love secret storage sports on a boat?!?! There is also more storage in the bow areas behind the cushions. At the aft end of the saloon there are also two cushioned upholstered swivel chairs that are great for entertaining or can be used for dining. The starboard chair can also be used as a navigator’s seat at the nav station.
The bulkhead on the Gozzard has another unique feature which is the upper portion of the starboard bulkhead. It folds down into itself and the double hinged door on the port side opens flush to the wall. When doing so, it opens up face freely and light shines through giving you more space and easier access to the companionway to the bow.
On the aft side of the forward bulkhead there is also a unique two seat built-in dinette/breakfast nook.
The galley has a center island with double stainless-steel sinks and avian (synthetic marble) countertops. There is hot/cold pressure water, manual fresh water and a Seagull IV filtered water system for drinking water. There is a refrigerator/freezer that is 10 cubic feet and is heavily insulated. There is also a built in 800-watt Panasonic microwave which can also be operated while underway with the inverter. The stove is a 3-burner propane gimballed force 10 with an oven. The oven doors open and slide out of the way under to stove to keep the stove balance while you are cooking underway. The countertops also have fiddles to keep your food from going anyway while sailing! There is swing out cabinets with angled shelves designed to store your dishes in any kind of weather. The designed was created to make the dishes easily accessible with the angled shelves.
Moving along to the port side of the vessel are the heads and showers. The forward guest head, the shower and the master stateroom head are all in a row with each head which gives private access to the shower. The shower is extremely large and has a teak seat for showering underway. There is also a sump with a teak grate, a solar powered vent fan to keep the shower fresh and airy at all times. The Aft head has a private entrance to the master stateroom. Both heads are very spacious and comfortable with great ventilation and behind the showers are a large hanging wet locker. It is also wired and has plumbing back there in case there is future installation of a generator.
The Gozzard had a custom design of the two staterooms on each side of the companionway. Both are private rooms. The master stateroom is to port and is larger then 80” x 80” with once again … LOTS OF STORAGE! There is a large skylight under the cockpit helm bringing beautiful light in the stateroom. Under this berth is access to the aft section of the engine compartment, starting battery, stuffing box and shaft. The second private stateroom has a queen size berth and is in the starboard aft section of the hull with plenty light, outlets and plenty of storage.
The engine is under the hinged companionway stairs which is very easy to access and great lighting. There are four teak dorade boxes with S/S cowls and built-in numerous solar fans to provide constant interior ventilation.
The underside of the coachouse has FRP panels installed with cherry battens, allowing for easy cleaning and maintenance. Separate cover plates cover all deck mounted hardware, backing plates and bolts. It is made to have easy access for maintenance.
The nav station is located in the starboard aft corner of the salon and has all the instruments and electrical panel with dual load groups; tank tender system for all 3 water tanks and holding tank. There is a separate gauge for the fuel tank.

When it comes to power you were never be in the dark with the 1100 Amp deep cycle “house” battery bank. There are two battery banks mounted in a custom molded housing mounted under the center island in the galley. Each battery bank consists of 6 two volt batteries. The inverter has been upgraded to a Victron Inverter charger This keeps the power runs short and puts the weight where you want it. There is a separate 4D diesel starting battery mounted just behind the engine.
The house battery switch gives you the capability to divide the house bank and access the engine battery for emergency use. Engine battery switch isolates the starting battery from house use but allows emergency access of the house bank if need be.
It’s a system designed to allow you to top off all 10 of the house batteries with distilled water in one easy operation.

Lighting protection has all shrouds, mast, compression and pulpits (lifelines) grounded with tin copper braid to the keel and a dynaplate.
The vessel is fully bonded for electrolysis protection with a vetus type 25 zinc anode located aft and a shaft zinc on the prop shaft. All wiring is tinned copper, labeled and colored including primary battery runs.
Sails and Rigging:
This boat is a very easy boat to sail. This sailboat is cutter rigged and equipped with an internal mainsail furling mast (with an integral storm sail track), a furling topsail and a furling staysail. The staysail leads to a custom curved ship traveler that allows for efficient self-tacking with the control lines led aft to the cockpit. The control lines are led aft to the cockpit through sets of spinlock rope clutches.

Deck and Hull Cockpit:
The Gozzard's design in the cockpit area are very famous for the layout and how many people it can fit comfortably. It has a unique fold-down walk-through transom with stainless steel swim ladder. The fold down swim ladder makes a many overboard rescue & dingy access very easy. The binnacle/center condole with 36” traditional teak wheel and 4.1/2” Richie Compass. If you are entertaining guests the steering console can convert to a dining table with twin fiberglass leaves that fold out on the side.
The fixed windshield/dodger serves as a mount for a track which allows the sunbrella dodger portion to be raised. This in turn matches the height of the helmsmen’s Bimini, with a two-piece center section affording the whole cockpit and companionway sun and rain protection. There is also a built-in hot/cold cockpit shower and cell cockpit cushions.
There are four cockpit hatches that provide access to store bigger bulky items. Within those there can be small item storage held in two custom carved pieces pattered to fit the individual handles ect and secured under each of the two lids for winch handles, flashlight, emergency tiller and bilge pump handle.
There are four teak dorade boxes with stainless steel cowls and built-in solar fans providing constant ventilation.
The hatches, handrails, stanchions, pulpits, stern rail/dinghy davits on the teak companionway door are all hand polished 316 stainless steel. It is equipped with double 31” high life lines, port/starboard gates mounted on bulwarks for improved rigidity and safety. There are 8 custom bronze chock/cleats that are strategically located for easy mooring.
There are two beautiful detailed bronze dolphins that enhance the caprails. There is a fiberglass rub rail with stainless steel chafe cap which allows for easy collision repairs to rub rail rather than the hull getting damaged. Also on the back are dingy davits. The dinghy davits are perfectly designed to not only store the dinghy while underway but serve to hold it near the swim platform for easy boarding and act as a grab handle while boarding, launching and retrieving the inflatable. There is a stainless-steel lift crane for the outboard and a natural teak bracket to store the outboard on the stern pulpit.
This vessel has a vertical maxwell 1200 12V electric reversible windless which is operatable from the foredeck or can be operated remotely from the helm. There is a custom bronze anchor roller platform for primary self-launching and a secondary roller.

All the fiberglass laminates are produced using E-Glass cloths and marine grade isothalic resins. The gelcoats are NPG/ISO formulations backed with AME 5000S vinylester resin. The hull is fully cored from the turn of the bilge to the cove stripe using ATC A500/A550 core cell. The deck is also fully cored with Baltec nd grain balsa. In areas where the hardware is installed the core is eliminated for a solid laminate.
The deck hardware is mounted with stainless steel backing plates and bedded in a moisture cure polyurethane caulking. Higher load areas are additionally reinforced with extra laminates for superior safety margins. All structural bulkheads are glassed to both the hull and deck. The interior bulkheads are a cored glass construction to prevent the possibility of rot. The hull deck joint is bedded in 3M 5200 polyurethane adhesive and bolted every 6” with 5/16” stainless steel bolts. The bottom is coated with inter-protect 2000 barrier coat to further increase osmosis protection. The hull is flag blue gelcoat. The exterior wood is crafted from Burma Teak (laminated bulwark cap, four dorade vents, coachouse eyebrow, bowsprit platform, cockpit sole/trim)
There is also the beautiful teak butterfly hatch on the cabin top and an incredible custom octagonal hatch on the foredeck. The handrails are stainless for strength and ease.
Engine and Mechanical:
The inboard Westerbeke W82B 4 cylinder is a naturally aspirated fresh water-cooled marine diesel with a 2.7:1 transmission and drives smooth and quiet with plenty of power to get the job done! There is a Bullflex drive coupling to reduce engine noise and vibration. Ther is a dual recor 500 water/fuel separator installation with manifold system that allows you to switch filters while underway if need be. There is aluminum trimmed sound deadening foam in engine room, a Shurwood engine raw water strainer with an inline winterizing and flushing port, 316 SS 1-1/2” drive shaft with PSS no-drip stuffing glad and a 20” X 12” RH 3 blade bronze Dyna Jet propeller. 150 amp twin belt alternator w/ standby voltage regulator.

The Kobelt single lever shifter with neutral lock out makes control a breeze. Edson pull-pull steering with a 16” quadrant w/ inline grease fitting. Bow thruster, 7HP, double prop 7” tube with control at the helm. The aft stateroom and Forward unit both has reverse cycle heat and air conditioning.
