General
This is a real opportunity to buy a WILBUR 34 fishing yacht which is at the top of its class for top class fishing charters. Custom built to precise specification, immaculate condition, professionally maintained, winterised, refitted, in full perfect working order, REALLY as good as new.
The hull is solid hand laid fibreglass of alternate layers of mat and woven roving.
The thickness of the hull varies from 3/8” to 3/4” at high-stress areas, such as, stringers to as much as 1.1/2” at those areas such as rudder port bearings which require extra thickness.
The superstructure is made up of hand laid fibreglass and utilises an end grain balsa core for structural rigidity and weight reduction.
Owner comments
The final configuration of Anica was developed after extensive discussions with Lee S. Wilbur. We set three main objective to be achieved by combining my personal specification list and his professional experience as follows: She should meet a decent comfort level, have great fishing facilities and be economical, and she was built this way. Close to 40% of a typical W34 configuration value was spent on 55 extras that gave great improvements to the boat. The Forward cabin, Head and Vee berth are now separated from cooking, washing, dining and navigation activities in the Pilothouse. Fishing can be done independently from the spacious cockpit without engaging Pilot house facilities, since all needed gadgets are there such as steering, controls, GPS, FF, but mainly fishing tackle such as rods & reels, riggers, deep reel, night fishing lights, fighting chair, lifting boom, live bait well and refrigerated big fish hold box.
The greater economy has been achieved by the Cummins engine 6BT5.9MI, 210HP, coupled with Twin Disc 506 that never failed during 4.660 working hours. Fuel consumption of 12 L/hour at 1600 rpm, that results in 8 to 9 nm/h cruising speed, can hardly be beaten. The maximum speed of Anica is 12 to 13 nm/h at 2400 rpm.
The craftsmanship, material quality and maritime performance of Wilbur 34 need no words since they have been proven and well known as superior. The statement of an owner, that after 20 years, all the joints are tight, nothing is loose, nothing is falling off, nothing is coming apart on his Wilbur, absolutely applies to Anica. In addition to the above quote, and regular maintenance and winterizing, Anica was refitted up to her original standards in Piculjan boatyard early 2017 and now looks immaculate.
The owner of Anica is my company Rea Maris Ltd and is run solely by myself. The company is licensed for Small commercial fishing, Fishing charters, Excursions, Deliveries and entitled to buy diesel fuel at currently 50% discounted price. Both, Rea Maris and Anica are included in the quoted price. No tax applies. If you do not want to buy Rea Maris, you can buy solely the boat Anica, but in this case, Anica fishing licence remains with Rea Maris.
