1989 Sea Ray 390 Express Cruiser
This Sea Ray 390 EC (Express Cruiser). A well known and versatile craft suitable for short and long distance cruising. The boat combines a twin elevated helm and co pilot steering position combined with wonderful large cockpit; brilliant for life aboard and entertaining. A particular feature is the spacious foredeck, perfect for 4 people to sunbathe, boat and people watching or late night star gazing. The spacious decks are protected by plentiful guardrails and hand holds.
Boat power comes from two Caterpillar (320) 375 hp engines. The boat cruises at 8 knots displacement speed using around 8 litres of diesel per hour per engine, or fast at 14-22 knots, depending on wind and sea state, using 16 litres. She has proven to be a stable and safe boat irrespective of sea state in Greek waters and totally restful at anchor.
At the rear, there is a large bathing platform with swim ladder and a mount for the dinghy engine if required. The dinghy is carried on Simpson 150 davits (tolerance 150 kgms x 2) which has proven over the years to be a totally reliable and easy facility for tender launch and retrieval allowing easy trips ashore from anchor. The boat is equipped with reputable Rochna anchor (Super High Holding) and lots of chain at 80 metres. The anchor locker has been specially enlarged to accommodate the additional chain. The windlass is a reliable Maxwell. Anchoring is safe and easy with cockpit control, forward deck control and two handheld remotes. The present tender (new 2019) is accompanied by a 2.5 hp Yanmar, also new in 2019.
The decks were refurbished and painted with an anti slip treatment in 2018. Grip is super secure under all conditions. The cockpit and held canvas was all replaced in 2018/2019.
