One afternoon in 1924 at his vacation cottage at the Jersey Shore, Elco Designer Glenville Tremaine started doodling on the back of a large envelope. Tremaine wanted to create the motor boating equivalent of the Model T Foed. The result was the Elco 26, a simple, rugged pocket cruiser that was an immediate hit with the boating public. Elco sold 50 of the 26-footers in one year. With a beam of 8' 6" and a draft of 2' 3" there's almost no place the Elco 26 can't go.
