1979 Contessa 32 'Equator' sloop rig with 2016 BETA Marine 3 cylinder 33hp diesel engine. Equator is well known in Contessa 32 racing circles, and the current owner even raced the boat with her very first owner. In the last two years she has spent a good bit of time ashore drying out and then received epoxy treatment to the hull in 2021. She is equipped with Sanders Main Sail and Genoa, new 2021. She was antifouled at the beginning of the 2022 season, and enjoyed a spin in the Round the Island race with her current owner and his family. Sadly age and personal circumstances force the sail of this lovely boat. Currently on swinging mooring in Chichester Harbour so prior notice and an appointment to view is required. 2020 survey available.
Following recommendations from the pre-purchase survey commissioned by the current owner in March 2020, the boat spent 6 months out of the water the following winter to allow the laminate to fully dry out as some moisture readings were high and some blisters were seen.
