This 1973 Hatteras 53 is a fantastic example of the builders expertise! She was bought in 1999 by her current owner, and has only been used to cruise and never fished. Her engines were majored and have approximately 1,000 hrs on her smoh. The stock galley was replaced with a custom galley that includes Sub Zero drawer refrigerator/freezers, Corian countertops and a Kenyon 4 burner cooktop stove. The redo really opens up the galley nicely and rivals boats that are much larger. Her salon is open and airy and very comfortable. She has two staterooms and two heads. The amid-ship berth could easily be converted to a side queen if needed. This boat has definitely been loved and you can tell that the owner takes great pride in her. She is his hobby!!! She has Detroit 12-71 Naturals, so no turbo's!! This would make a great cruiser, live aboard, or fisherman. At 1900 RPM's she cruises at about 17 knots. Her entire body has been lifted and the owner is currently having the lifting strakes glassed to the hull. Nice. The owner has decided that it is time to go. Really great guy who truly loves this boat!

The owner is and extremely knowledgeable boater who loves "his" boat. This has been his hobby for about twenty years. So this just isn't a boat, but part of the family. Do you know what I mean? This is the kind of boat that has good back ground and the right type of owner. Super nice guy.
