1970/2014 44' Tollycraft Tri-Cabin 'Resto-Mod.' Very cool adaptation of one of Tolly's bulletproof 40' Tri-Cabin hulls. No.. really, these laminations were experimented with gunshot testing for use in Vietnam era Swift Boats, The Tollycraft trade name for this lamination was Pli-core. This hull lay-up is very similar to the vacuum bagged FRP lamination schedule used by boat builders like Jim Lindell today in his modern Ocean Sports. After the gelcoat was shot the lay-up crew laid in sheets of stitched together 2" foam squares and completed the hull lamination with a vacuum bag. This allowed the resin to encircle each piece of foam making for a very thick, rigid, hull with the correct resin to coring ratio. In 2014 one of these hulls was purchased and everything was removed for the hull down to bare fiberglass. The seller hired Ed Monk Junior to do the naval architecture for the aft 10' x 10' aft cockpit extension. What ensued over the next few years was a careful, professional refit of all the vessel systems including an $85,000 paint job 4 years ago. Twin 6068 John Deere diesels turning 5 blade props were installed that propel her to 20 MPH getting 1 MPG. Instead of a diesel generator the owner installed a 1400 amp-hour battery bank for quiet AC power coming from the 4K Outback inverter charger. The heating system is a Webasto 7 zone hydronic diesel boiler/hot water heater routed all over the boat with a clever register on the fly bridge for warming you from upper elevated navigation station. 400 GPD Water maker, two staterooms, custom galley with full size fridge and 2 burner LPG cooktop, Steelhead WD-800 cockpit deck crane for your aft cockpit cradled 12' Polaris fiberglass RIB with 50 HP Tohatsu 2-stroke and full electronics package.
