Themara was designed by the Scottish naval architects G.L. Watson & Co. was built along traditional lines to Lloyds class by Ailsa Shipbuilding, Troon, Scotland in 1962.
This compact ocean-going yacht, powered by twin Gardner diesels (now completely rebuilt) has cruised extensively in all latitudes including a circumnavigation starting in 1988.
She was also a support vessel for the filming of Luc Besson’s Atlantis.
Her interior has been rebuilt completely using varnished mahogany, in a timeless style, with modern details added for comfort. The galley has been renewed to modern standards, in stainless steel with new appliances.
The wheelhouse is light with good visibility, the original windows restored, and all the instruments updated.
The large Sun Deck is equipped with a modern hydraulic crane, and an outside seating area and pilot station.
Themara is now lying in Southern France, where considerable money has been spent on refitting her to a high standard of finish.

Water tanks integrated to the hull capacity: 3,000L - Stainless steel tank aft capacity: 1,000L. Black water tank capacity: 1,000L

Two 174 hp Gardner 6L3B 6-cylinder diesel engines rebuilt in 2014, commissioned in 2020. Original Gardner reduction gears and gearbox.
Electric start and controls.
Propeller shafts and Stern tube lubrication by oil renewed by France Hélice.
Speed cruising 9 kt max 10 kt range at cruising speed: 4,000 nautical miles
Bow thruster: Hydraulic, driven by PTO on main generator (same as windlass) commissioned in 2020.

Shore power isolation transformer 25 KVA.
All electrical cabling and hydraulic pipework is new.

Separated engine and generator Start Batteries.
STEERING: Hydraulic electric/manual with 2 stations (wheelhouse + flying bridge)
Activating the single rudder; the hydraulic pump and oil tank are located in the engine room.
WINDLASS: Data Hydraulic installed in 2014 driven by PTO on the main generator. Two anchors of 150kg each and two new 108 meter galvanized chains.

AIR CONDITIONING: by Climma; new; with chillers (80,000btu) installed in the engine room and air handlers with independent controls throughout the boat.
FRESH WATER SYSTEM: by Gianneschi & Ramacciotti with 2 pumps (400V and 24V) located in the engine room.
HOT WATER: Electrical, three boilers 230V. TOILET SYSTEM: by Tecma (3 units, 24V) new.
