The Ortega 40 is a full cruising model, embodying all the character and performances of larger boats.
Civilized living for the sake of going to sea. She sleeps three in one upper and two lower berths in the fwd cabin. Two additional guests can sleep in the comfortable deckhouse lounge-berths as well. This boat maintains a proper balance between cabins and cockpit, and between sleeping and daytime facilities.
The forepeak is of full hanging height, with 100 cubic feet of storage space. The berths are 6-5 1/2 long, unusually wide with four drawers beneath. Three sleeping berths in total. Headroom is 6-3.
The head is accessible from the stateroom or deckhouse and is equipped with a medicine cabinet, linen locker, Vacuflush toilet, and shower stall.

The deckhouse and cockpit are on one level. Helm chair to starboard and obersvers seat to port.
Aft of that are lounge-berths. Seat by day, berth by night. Under the lounges is storage space.
One of the most delightful features of this type of boat is the aft cockpit, over 10 feet long and 8 feet wide. The engine boxes also act as seats and a good place for sunbathing. Ample space aft for deck chairs, under the cockpit is storage.
Bottom stripped to bare wood, refastened with Silicone Bronze, coated with West System G-Flex Epoxy, appropriate primer and bottom paint. Brand new bottom paint.
