A new look at fast cruising, the Rapier 550 brings together an incredible combination of high performance, high specification and radical new design. The 550 is a next generation of multihulls full of innovation, ergonomics and beauty, producing a catamaran with a true racing heritage and class-leading performance.
Intelligent electronics, navigation and radically simple innovative sail handling is standard, as are creative contemporary, luxury interiors.
The Rapier 550 is made using carbon fibre infused epoxy making it a fast, light and extremely good-looking boat. With a cruising speed of 15 knots, this boat has the capability of covering 350 miles per day.
The key to the success of the Rapier 550 is the forward helm position from where the skipper can keep a clear watch at high speed and also control all of the sails. Two additional tiller helm position are provided outside for days when the weather is not too hot or too cold.
The enormous open plan saloon, galley and cockpit area provides spacious seating, extensive storage and a large dining table with built in retractable HDTV, all surrounded by glass windows, giving close to 360 degree viewing.
Voted as the best catamaran for Bluewater Cruising in 2015 by European Journalists, this boat has been the Broadblue demonstrator since launch and is now available to discerning owners for their next fast long distance passage. It would ideally suit a couple or family who want the space and pace of a 55ft performance catamaran but the ease of handling to avoid having paid crew.

This Rapier 550 has been enjoyed by her current owner but work pressures means he is unable to enjoy her to the max and so she is reluctantly for sale, The boat has recently undergone a minor refit and is now ready to move on to her new owner. Broadblue have been using this boat as a demonstrator and there may be an opportunity for a new owner to take advantage of a contribution to running costs if they were prepared to allow access for marketing purposes.
