Simplicity. A simple, well-designed layout minimizing weight and making the vessel easy to sail shorthanded.
Performance. Use of high-tech composite materials and technologies keep the structure light and stiff while delivering a fast, well-balanced and easy-to-handle yacht.
Comfort. This generation of Nigel Irens designed catamaran shape minimizes wetted surface area, pitching, and under-wing slamming.
Safety. Six watertight compartments, structural materials with positive buoyancy and speed to outrun developing weather.
Stylish, sleek and speedy, the Gunboat 60 incorporates years of proven features into a well-appointed performance catamaran. Since her launch in 2015, the first owners have enjoyed a consistent schedule of extensive family cruising and Gunboat racing with a mix of professionals and friends in New England and the Caribbean.
Arethusa offers luxury, comfort, ample space, and storage for long-term, live-aboard cruising. The yacht features four staterooms plus a crew cabin, sleeping a total of ten - plenty of room when you need it for family, friends, and crew.
Arethusa comfortably reaches brag-worthy speeds both cruising and when in regatta mode. In the absence of wind, two 55HP Yanmar motors deliver reliable motoring. Centerboard configuration offers a minimum draft of 1 meter (3.5 feet) with board up and maximum draft of 3.5 Meters (11.5 feet) with boards down - an all-access pass to gorgeous shallow-water destinations otherwise off limits.
Arethusa was built at the Gunboat yard in Xiamen, China. Since commissioning August of 2015, she has been continually upgraded, maintained and optimized by experienced owners and professional crew.
She is presented in turnkey, sail-away condition for both cruising and racing programs.
