Starting all the way forward, there is a guest head that is split with an enclosed shower compartment to port and a marine toilet and sink to starboard.
Moving aft, you enter the guest stateroom with a large Pullman berth to port and hanging lockers with custom storage to starboard. There is more storage under the berth in lockers that open on the front face of the bed as well as more under the bunk.
Continuing aft through a private, teak door, you enter the spacious main salon. To port is an L-shaped settee with a custom slide that converts to a double berth. There is a custom dining table that folds up against the bulkhead when not in use. There is dedicated bottle and glassware storage behind the table on the bulkhead that is very secure To starboard is a large settee. 6’6” headroom and abundant storage throughout the salon adds to its spaciousness and livability. An LCD TV is mounted on the bulkhead. In addition, there is a custom-built liquor and wine locker forward and behind the starboard settee. A matching custom-built cabinet on the port side balances the comfortable space.
Continuing aft, there is a full-sized navigation station on the starboard side and a ten foot long gourmet galley to port. Just inboard of the galley, there is a spacious soundproof engine compartment with its "ship-like" teak, double latched doors containing all the ship's mechanical, electrical and fluid systems.
Further aft and to port is the door into the private owners’ quarters with its custom queen-sized centerline berth, teak hull battens, hanging lockers, drawers and custom cabinets. Walking forward along the starboard side, you enter the ensuite aft head that is also easily accessed from the main cabin and cockpit.
One must see this all-teak custom interior to fully appreciate its beauty and craftsmanship. This is an all teak interior with no fiberglass showing.
With the front-loading refrigerator and separate freezer, custom double sink, abundant storage and exceptionally long (almost 10 feet) counter, this spacious galley is one any chef would appreciate!
Fully equipped for Cruising:
This boat has many features that allow for ease of handling, including an internal roller furling mainsail, electric furling headsail and bow thruster. In addition, a modified fin keel with skeg-hung rudder makes the Caliber 47LRC exceptionally responsive and quick, with outstanding directional stability even through pounding seas. Because she has an unusually large displacement for a boat of her size, the Caliber moves steadily in heavy seas, and because of her high ballast-to-displacement ratio, the Caliber is very stable (and therefore safe) in rough water. Third Wish won 1st place in the 2019 Harvest Moon Regatta in the cruising non-spinnaker class and 2nd overall in the cruising division; this is a testament to the Caliber's exceptional handling and speed offshore.
With spacious 6-by-8 foot dimensions and high back supports built into the seats, the Caliber LRC's center cockpit is more comfortable than most. The cockpit is arranged to provide the captain complete control with ease and efficiency for short-handed sailing. The innovative steering pedestal is designed to house the VHF radio, GPS/chartplotter and other important navigational aids conveniently near the helm. All sail control lines and halyards are led to the cockpit for instant access. Compartments built into the coaming accommodate jib sheets so that coils of line won't clutter the cockpit. A swim ladder and boarding platform built into the transom make it easy to board from a dinghy or take a swim. The platform has its own hand-held shower so that a swimmer can rinse off before coming on deck.
Deck stowage space, a rare commodity on many center-cockpit boats, is abundant on the Caliber 47 LRC. Two deck lockers forward and two aft can accommodate items as large as an outboard motor or an uninflated dinghy. A sizeable anchor well at the bow features separate ground tackle compartments for two anchors. The anchor platform simplifies anchor handling.
The Caliber hull is built with outstanding resistance to collisions at sea with extra layers of fiberglass at potential impact points. In case of damage to the bow or rudder, a Watertight Collision Bulkhead and a Rudder Post Dam are designed to minimize flooding.
