New Mast, New Rigging, Newer sails and Electronics! (Rig NOT hit by lightning... caused by a sudden gybe while single handling on the way back from the islands.)

Walking down the four carpeted companion way steps, the galley is to starboard. Since this is the owner's model, the galley is extended aft and offers ample storage. A gimbled stove, two hatch access refrigeration, and 12 deep cabinets provide convenient storage of provisions.
Aft of the galley, there is access to a large storage garage which is In leu of a third stateroom. Access to the Espar heater, steering, fuel tank, and engine controls is straight forward.
Aft on port side is the second state room with hanging lockers and king sized berth. Maintenance access to engine and SD50 drive train, along with water heater, and transom is well designed.
Also, aft of the salon, on port side is the ships only head. It is large and houses a full stand up shower compartment. An Airhead composting toilet offers extended cruising (3-4 weeks cruising, or a full season, without need for pumpout), and if maintained with simple procedures, will offer near odor free use. A manual 10 GPM emergency bilge pump is also accessible.
At midship, lies a large, open, well-lit and ventilated saloon with soft LED lighting, well placed handrails and deep storage lockers. To starboard, a large table and leather settee offers seating for five and doubles as stowage. To port is the navigation station with chart table, seating, and B&G multi-function display (2015 refit). Two Group 8D batteries are installed below the navigation chair (2016).
Forward is the owners stateroom with a walk-in berth with new 7.5 inch coil spring mattress. Controls for the 16 GPH water maker and access to the ships water tank are below. Large hanging lockers and numerous storage cabinets are provided.

The Yanmar 3JH4E is located beneath the companion ways stairs. A 40 Amp Hitachi alternator powers the ships batteries at 1300 RPM (0.3GPH) when wind or solar not in use. Aft of the engine is the SD50 sail drive (spare cone clutch included). A 17 inch aluminum propeller provides more efficient motoring/motor sailing than folding props, yet does not significantly detract from performance when near hull speed.

Deck and Ground Tackle:
On deck, a spacious teak cockpit with folding table offers entertaining for eight. There is a large single steering wheel with direct link controls to the rudder and autopilot, accessible by cockpit floor panel. A B&G 7" Zeus2 is secured in the steering pulpit along with the autopilot remote and a Triton is mounted an a swiveling mount. A new bimini with removable sunshades complement a new soft dodger and offers excellent visibility through high tech transparencies (both new 2017). Two Harken 46 and two Harken 40 winches provide all the reefing and sail handling power required for shorthanded and singlehanded crews. Aft stay tensioner, boom vang, outhaul, and forward traveler provide mainsail shape control and a new Rolly-Tasker main is fully battened with Ronstan batten cars, leach line, and three deep reefs provide power and stability throughout a range of coastal and offshore conditions. An optional 140W solar panel is mounted upon dinghy davits off the stern.
Teak side decks lead to midship with handrails and aft swept spreaders. Four composite mast steps provide access to a Sunbrella mainsail stack-pack, which is supported by lazy jacks. Forward of the mast, a self-tacking jib track takes the work out of tacking in close quarters and allows the Hanse 400e to power to windward at 30 degrees apparent using the jib.
A spinnaker pole is stowed on port stations, however the 1300 sq.ft. asymmetrical spinnaker bypasses the pole and easy to set using a dousing sock with shorthanded crew. A removable mini-bowsprit places the spinnaker tack in front of the Facnor roller Furler and allows for outside jibes.
Forward is a generously large anchor locker with 1000W windlass and access to the Rocna Vulcan 20kg anchor. The aforementioned ground tackle is a 2017 upgrade and offered superb and confident holding from the Mid-Atlantic to the Grenadines.
