The Pearson True North 33 is a scaled-down version of the True North 38 Pearson introduced in 2002. Possessing the same Down East styling as her sibling, the plumb bow, sharply raked transom, and low-profile pilothouse of the True North distinguish her from just about anything else on the water. The tapered hull carries the beam well forward, and the rudder and prop are fully protected by an integral skeg. Note that the transom incorporates a pair of wide “clamshell” doors, which make it possible to lift a dinghy into the cockpit for storage—a feature experienced cruisers are sure to appreciate. The layout of the True North 33 has the galley and dinette on the pilothouse level, which is open to the cockpit, a design that affords the helmsman excellent allaround visibility. (The forward dinette seat can be converted at the touch of a button into a forward-facing bench seat.) Sleeping accommodations and a full-sized head with shower are below, and the level of finish found throughout the interior is impressive in every respect. A relatively light boat for her size, she’ll cruise at 20 knots with a single 440hp Yanmar diesel.
