The Doughdish is a fiberglass reproduction of the original Herreshoff 12 1/2 footer. It is constructed in foam sandwich fiberglass with teak trim. It is built to the exact hull dimensions and rig of the sloops designed by N. G. Herreshoff in 1914. As a result they are able to compete against the wooden boats in class races and regattas.
It is a comfortable and easy daysailer, and a wonderful boat for teaching someone to sail.
Doughdish No. 507 was built by Edey and Duff of Mattapoisett, MA in 2005. Doughdish 507 has been sailed in freshwater since launching and has been stored indoors in the offseason. Her topsides have been re-painted and brightwork was varnished last winter.
The sale includes working sails, cockpit cover and a Triad Trailer.
