The interior is Herreschoff style, white and cherry vertical surfaces with solid cherry trip. A large V-berth with removable insert is forward and includes storage underneath. The enclosed head is to starboard and features an electric marine toilet, sink with faucet/shower and two large storage lockers in the vanity. There are four large screened 316 SS opening ports and a large overhead deck hatch for excellent ventilation and light below. The vertical surfaces are white laminate, counters are Birch Matrix. Overhead is a padded liner with plenty of lighting. The sole is varnished teak and holly.
Down three steps to port is the galley. The galley boast a two-burner propane stovetop, single polished stainless steel sink, under counter AC/DC refrigerator with freezer and lots of counter space. Ample storage for plates and pots. The handy inverter allows use of small 110 appliances if needed.
Located under a large hatch in the helm deck is the engine compartment. The engine room is well laid out to access all systems. The reliable Volvo diesel has been well maintained since new and obvious all systems have been maintained as soon as you open the hatch. Plenty of noise insulation provides a quiet ride while at cruising speeds.
The side decks feature non-skid decks, robust stainless steel hardware, stainless steel handrails and also included is the all-stainless steel windshield frame. TheToast Sunbrella Bimini with side curtains provide shade over the helmdeck.The exterior layout features two varnished wood trimmed helm and companion pedestal seats with cushions. There are two opposing benches with cushions (easily accessible storage compartments are beneath) on the raised helm deck area. Aft is a full bench seat with cushion across the transom with storage in the port and starboard sections (the middle lifts away to allow access to the transom). The helm deck and lower cockpit have sockets for a varnished pedestal table. Both areas have deck lighting for after-hour entertaining. There is a hot and cold transom shower. This Legacy 28 features an abbreviated keel that allows for good tracking, a modified-V entry that takes the bang out of the seas, and flat aft section that gives the boat stability and easy planing. The optional Volvo 310-horsepower engine is capable of powering the boat to 28 knots. Even with a powerful engine, the 28 is quiet, with low-vibration, and virtually free of exhaust fumes. An oversized, pot-style muffler also keeps the sound down and an underwater exhaust system eliminates diesel fumes underway. The engine has been installed on flexible rubber mounts which are situated on high-density foam stringers. Seating on the bridgedeck and cockpit accommodates nine easily. The copilot seat to port is tall with visibility equal to that of the helmsman. Other standard features include an opening center windshield, recessed trim tabs, flush-mounted hardware, secure bow rails, and hydraulic steering. Storage is abundant with under-berth stowage, a hanging locker, and storage below all the bench seats. The cabin features six feet of headroom and is finished in cherry joinery and teak sole. Four opening ports and an overhead hatch allow plenty of light and air. Other features include a refrigerator, an enclosed head shower.
