Romantic in the classic maritime sense, the Grand Banks 46 Europa's spacious deck house opens aft to a shaded cockpit, a design feature both functional and beautiful. Built on the same hull-form as the popular 46 Classic,the Europa offers an additional design distinction that further encourages indoor/outdoor activity: a flybridge that extends over the side decks.
The result is an attractive, safe-from-the-weather steering and navigational station. At anchor or at dockside, a teak-crafted door slides open, providing a direct connection from the salon to the roomy, aft cockpit space.
Enter the salon through sliding,double,teak and glass doors (with hidden privacy shade) that pocket to starboard, providing a clear opening of about 5 feet. Forward, to the lower helm station,another door leads to the starboard side deck.

Large, operable screened windows provide additional natural light and ventilation. Upon entering the salon one will be struck by the superb craftsman ship, as well as the tastefully appointed interior. Offering custom Port and Starboard Ultra Leather seating with Gas Shock Lifts for easy access to storage. The sole is teak and holly. The entertainment located aft on the starboard side, beautiful teak corner cabinet houses the Samsung TV, Clarion Marine CD Player and Bose AM and FM tuner with Bose and Clairon Speakers through-out. Located Forward and Starboard the helm seat, custom hidden storage with convertible work top, below a Uline Mini Fridge & ice maker. Along the starboard side is an Ultra leather settee which comfortably seats three, and on the port side is an L shaped settee which will comfortably seat four. Located aft, a built-in cabinet with two drawers and cabinet storage provides an end table. Adjacent, a teak high-low drop leaf table with hidden storage compartments. The table functions well for dining and is properly secured.
The lower helm is forward to starboard in the main cabin. All controls, instruments and gauges are located in a Teak "Himalaya Box" within easy reach and visibility, and a large, bolstered helm seat provides excellent support for seated or standing operation. A forward hinged door to starboard lets the captain immediately onto the deck.

The very functional galley is located forward on the port side. Galley fitted with Corian Countertops. Mounted above the counter and Norcold Fridge is a Sharp Carousel Microwave/Convection oven. The sink is an under-mounted deep single basin unit with a Grohe single lever fixture. Under the sink are four drawers and waste receptacle locker, and under the Princess stove double door cabinet with deep drawer for pots and pans. Forward under the chart flat is dedicated storage for plates, cups, etc. Pantry storage is available in three teak, hanging cabinets above. As well, just adjacent to the forward end of the galley in the companionway down to the berthing accommodations is a large double-door pantry closet.
Going forward from the deck house down three steps brings you to the guest accommodations. On the port side is a double guest cabin with the berths arranged side by side and between the berths is a cedar-lined hanging locker with a teak, louvered door. There are 4 drawers under the forward berth and 3 under the aft. This cabin has a teak and holly sole and the bulkheads and cabin trunk sides are finished in Grand Banks beige. All the joiner work is finished in a low gloss varnish. Over the hanging locker is a large stainless steel, screened, opening port. The cabin is lit with overhead lighting as well as reading lamps. Forward there are teak bookshelves with keepers, and on the aft bulkhead there is mounted a beveled mirror.

Just across the companionway from the guest cabin is a Semi-private bathroom with a Sealand/Vacuflush head with Tankwatch System which can double as a day head. A Corian Composite sink with a Grohe single lever faucet mounts in a Corian counter top.Large stall shower with teak grating. A screened, opening port provides natural ventilation along with Electric Ventilation Fan. Storage cabinets are under and over counter.

The well appointed master cabin is located forward. There is plenty of light and ventilation with four opening ports and a large opening hatch above the berth. Teak and holly sole through-out. The center Island Queen berth forward creating more floor space, giving this area a much larger feel. Queen berth equipped with Gas Shock lifts for easy access to storage. Flanking the head of the bed are built in port and starboard end tables blending into wall shelf with cabinets below. Port side offers large four draw built in bureau with shelved cabinet below. To starboard is a similar arrangement with impressive eight draw bureau with storage below and a large cedar-lined hanging locker.
The master head is located on the port side, en suite to the master cabin. It features a Sealand/Vacu-flush head, vanity with Corian countertop and a Corian Composite sink with a Grohe single lever faucet. Large stall shower with teak grating. A screened, opening port provides natural ventilation along with Electric Ventilation Fan. Storage cabinets are under and over counter. There is a full length beveled mirror, teak and holly sole.

The engine room is accessed through deck hatches in the deck house or through a door forward in the lazarette/equipment room. Twin Caterpiller 3126B/450 HP engines are just the right power for this boat.
Her Aquadrive coupling systems perform beautifully. She is very quiet and absolutely vibration free. Kingfisher carries 632 gallons of diesel fuel in her double tanks. The engine room is neat, clean and well organized. It shows a high level of maintenance. Duel Racor filters equipped with pressure gauges at engine room and lower helm. Racors are mounted inboard of the engines and are easily serviced. The 12 kw Northern Lights_Lugger generator equipped with single Racor Filter and hard sound shield is mounted aft to starboard.
NOISE ABATEMENT: At build owner paid special attention to Sound Abatement. Hull and SS Stanchions filled or lined with 3M Thinsulate and all compartments,hatches have been specially lined with Acoustiblock Soundproofing Material.

The teak decks and varnished joiner work and the vessels overall condition is Bristol. Meticulous attention to maintenance is clearly evident.
The overhanging upperdeck begins forward of the deckhouse and covers the side and aft decks offering protection from the elements below when docking. The upgraded hawse pipes and cleats are noticeably sturdy. The ships electrical service and water can be supplied toward the bow or aft. Forward, on the anchor pulpit is a LaFrans 1200 watt windlass and two stainless steel anchor rollers. Aft, a large hatch with gas lifts accesses the lazarette, laundry and engine room. The main cabin entrance is through double sliding teak and glass doors that pocket to the starboard, and there is a door starboard of the lower helm, accessing the starboard side deck.. Solid molded steps with sturdy hand rails and teak treads take you topside to the large and welcoming flybridge.
Located in the floor of the aft deck are 3 hatches. A single gas shock assisted hatch leads way to the equipment room & engine room. The double door hatches lead to added storage and steering.

Two large hatches in the afterdeck open to access the steering linkage and a large storage area. Everything is clean and orderly. Teak grates are fitted to form a platform to protect the steering linkage.
Kingfisher Flybridge is a very comfortable working and living space. Access is up a molded FRP stairway from the aft deck. The access hatch slides back wide on roller bearings making it extremely easy to use.
The Flybridge protected by Sunbrella Bimini Cover, well built and in perfect condition. Bimini is extended protecting not only the helm but guest seating.
Custom Extended Mast is manual with custom SS pulley system making lowering a breeze for travel, service and storage. Plenty of open floor space and seating to entertain, relax and travel in comfort.
