Ready for Sea Trial...
Now on the hard at a local marina...
The Maxum 3200 SCR Sun Cruiser provides the ultimate in leisure. Molded in steps lead from the large transom up to the fully equipped helm station with wraparound instrument panel. There is ample seating for guests, and a sink has been thoughtfully included. The foredeck has a large sunpad.
Multiple plexiglass skylights bathe the spacious cockpit with a warm glow and movement is unrestricted throughout. Cabinet space and storage is plentiful, with two large hanging lockers and more space beneath the V-berth and dinette. The large salon features a built-in stereo system and there is comfortable and plentiful seating around the dinette, which includes a table top compartment for condiments and silverware.
The dinette converts to provide additional berth space. In the head is a vanity cabinet, overhead lighting, mirror, sink, and shower. The galley features a sink, refrigerator, stove, and microwave. Both the large V-berth and spacious mid-berth offer accordion doors, throw pillows, windows, and dedicated stowage.
Largest boat in the Maxum fleet when she was introduced in 1994, the 3200 SCR is a generic stern drive cruiser with functional deck and cabin layouts and an impressive list of standard features. Notably, she was among the least expensive boats in her class during the late 1990s. Hull construction is solid fiberglass, and the Maxum’s 11-foot beam—together with the lack of any side decks—results in an unusually spacious interior for a 32-footer.
The mid cabin layout is arranged in the usual manner with double berths fore and aft, a convertible dinette, complete galley, and a stand up head with sink and shower. A curtain forward and a folding door aft separate the sleeping areas from the salon, and headroom is excellent, even in the small aft cabin.
On deck, the cockpit is arranged with facing settees aft and a double-wide seat at the helm (which folds out into a lounge). A windshield walk-through provides access to the fore deck sun pad and bow platform. Twin 250hp MerCruisers cruise the Maxum 3200 SCR at 20 knots and reach a top speed of 30+ knots.
