Often considered the French Swan, these Wauquiez Centurion 45's are seaworthy, fast and elegant sailing yachts designed by legendary architect Ed Dubois and built by the Henry Wauquiez Yard in France before the company was purchased by Beneteau. There where twenty four 45's built between 1990 and 1993. She features classic lines with a beautifully stretched transom. Auxiliary propulsion is provided by a Perkins Prima M-50 diesel and she carries 65 gallons of fuel and 130 gallons of fresh water.
In 2012 the vessel underwent an extensive refit which included: New standing rigging, running rigging, sails, New Kiwigrip decks (after removal of original teak decks), a new Raymarine electronics package, upgraded electrical system, new upholstery and ground tackle.
Since her refit in 2012 the vessel has been professionally maintained and continually upgraded. The vessel gets sailed regularly around Hawaii and in April 2019, the owner whom is also a retired CG-officer and marine surveyor sailed the vessel from Hawaii to Fanning Island, a round-trip of about2100 miles.
This vessel has been granted a MARAD waiver which allows for chartering up to six passengers. The vessels last survey was conducted on December 19, 2016 by Pacific Star Marine Services, where she was valued at $183,500.00
The hull is solid fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) without core material. The deck is FRP sandwich construction with balsa core material. The deck to hull joint is laminated with FRP. The lead ballast keel is bolted on with robust stainless steel keel bolts. The mast is keel stepped. The interior hull structures consist of bulkheads, frames, floors, stringers and built-ins that are tabbed to the hull. Furnishings are built in and there are no FRP liners. The hull topside finish is original gelcoat and polished to a high gloss. The bottom was recoated with Trinidad antifouling paint in 3/2019. There are no hull blisters.
