This 1989 Princess 286 Riviera is powered by 2 lovely fuel injected Volvo 4.3 GXi's. These engines give great performance of around 35 knots whilst giving a quiet and refined ride, whilst being good on fuel, these engines are hard to beat.
2 x 4.3l GXI 225hp Volvo's that were put in in 2005, they only have 190 hours. The current owner has done 50 of those hours fishing at 5 knots. These lovely engines are linked to SX Duo-Prop out drives giving great maneuverability and performance. The boat does 35 knots max and cruises at 21 knots.
These 286 Rivieras are a difficult cruiser to beat for around £30'000. They give fantastic space aboard due to her 11' beam, this enables the galley to be set back on the port side giving a larger space when entering the cabin and a lot more space in the cockpit.
Princess boats of this era are built so well too which translates into a very safe and secure feeling ride even in rougher waters. I have personally brought a 286 Riviera across the English Channel from Guernsey in fairly rough water, she handled the this journey perfectly, being a lot more comfortable than a fellow 35' cruiser that came with us.
