George Buehler "Grizzly Bear" design double ender full keel cutter with boomkin bowsprit. Tzegunka is a nice, stout coastal cruiser built in Coos Bay, Oregon using locally sourced Port Orford Cedar, Douglas Fir, Pacific Yew, Yellow Cedar and White Oak. Launched in 1988, her keel is cement and lead, encased in steel. Topside decking is cotton caulked. The mainsail is stretched, but usable. The second staysail has seen very little use.
Tzegunka is ideal for the person looking for a classically designed boat that's ready to be outfitted to fully meet their own vision. She's rigged as a Bermudan Cutter, with an aluminum Le Fiell mast and solid Douglas Fir boom. Standing rigging is 1x19 SS w/ NaviTec 316 turnbuckles, SS 1/4 x 1 1/2" chain plates, SS back stays and Schaefer deck hardware. 3 Harken 8 halyard winches, 4 bronze Southcoast sheet winches are on deck.
The engine is a Westerbeke Model M-40, 4 cylinder, with 2 Racor filters and aproximately 1,900 hours on the clock.
In the cabin, there's 56" of headroom. The galley features a 2 burner Force 10 propane stove, double basin SS sink and 12V cooler. The boat features simple piping for faucet and manual foot pump. No head is currently fitted. Forward, there's a large V-berth with a nice raised hatch, cabinet and large shelf. The bunk has an opening to the chain locker with access to capstan hydraulics. Ground tackle includes 175' of 5/16" chain + 160' of 3/4" polyester line on 33lb Bruce primary and 100' of nylon line + 50' of 5/16" chain on 15lb Danforth secondary anchor.
Tzegunka has both 12V DC and 120V AC shorepower. Soft solar panels are fitted on top of the house over the entry hatch with power regulated by a Morningstar Sunsaver 10 solar controller. Navigation and comms equipment is straightforward, with Danforth Constellation compass, Si-Tex 850 VHF and Garmin 120 GPS.
