The Silverton 40' Aft Cabin was Silverton's first double-cabin design. Her two-stateroom interior is arranged with the galley and dinette down, which results in a fairly spacious salon. The full-width aft cabin has a walkaround double berth and v-berths are in the forward stateroom. Both heads are fitted with shower stalls. A good condition, spacious cabin with very low hours. She has always been fresh water only and stored indoors for winters. This is your family's next Condo on the Water. Call today!

The owner of Grand Connection studied the Silverton 40 aft cabin 2 stateroom layout for a good time before finding this boat in the summer of 2006 on the little Calumet River in Chicago. The boat had been stored and moored in Chicago after it was purchased by 2 couples who partnered on the boat. The boat was driven by water up to Waukegan Harbor in Illinois when the current owner purchased her after the previous owners partnership dissolved on the boat.
Immediately the owner upgraded and replaced the cockpit carpet and canvas as both were showing their age in 2006. In 2012 a new air conditioning unit (10000 btu) with digital controls replaced the original unit. Also, a Garmin 3210 navigation system was installed with Radar, GPS and Sonar.
In 2014, new engine room strainers, water lines and hoses and clamps were all updated.
In 2015 the original generator was removed as it was deemed not repairable. The owner begin to study new generator options and decided against installing a replacement generator. Therefore the price of this boat being offered was lowered to allow a new owner to choose the correct generator for the boat if desired and to have it installed.
Also in 2015; The engine carbs were rebuilt, as well as new plugs, wires, belts, hoses and full tune up were given to both engines including setting the timing properly.
Inside the boat, new faucets and controls for both the forward and aft heads, new incoming water lines and shut off valves.
2016: The closed cooling heat exchanger tanks were replaced on both engines. Also the sea cock thru hull fittings, all water bearing lines to the engines and from the engines and all engine hoses, clamps were replaced on both engines.
2017 both engine batteries were replaced.
2019 replaced the house batteries, the main water pump for AC systems and the aft bilge pump were all replaced.
NOTE: The owner has practiced a very regimented practice of having the boat serviced both mechanically and cosmetically on a yearly basis. The boat is routinely buffed and waxed, bottom painted as needed and engine oils are changed by a qualified mechanic and boat captain that has been associated with this vessel since purchased in 2006.
