(“Daruma”) was manufactured by Edey & Duff in 1981. It is in excellent condition, its hull is a gorgeous Stars and Stripes Blue, and its brightwork is maintained by Lyman Morse Boatbuilder.
Also included in the sale is a 1985 Triad Doughdish boat trailer.
A Doughdish is the fiberglass version of the classic Herreshoff 12.5 gaff-rigged sloop, first manufactured in the 1920s and still going strong. The Doughdish is absolutely true to the original Herreshoff-12.5 lines, is of the same weight as the wooden predecessors, and has an identical rig. It is therefore permitted to race on an even basis with the wooden fleet.
