Catherine is a well maintained and gently sailed 1981 C&C 30 sloop sailed by her current owner for the past 8 summers. She was designed and built in Ontario, introduced in the early '70s, and 800 were built during the next 12 years. She is a moderately light racer/cruiser and offers wide side decks and lifelines, large cockpit with pedestaled destroyer wheel and winches fore and aft. Built in 1981 by C & C Yachts of Niagra-on-the-Lake, Ontario, with solid fiberglass hull, balsa cored decks. Designed by George Cuthbertson and George Cassian, about 800 of these boats were built in 12 years, all at the same yard. Molded winch blocks, cockpit, decks, and cabin. SS keel bolts, exterior 3450 lb. lead keel. Fiberglass rudder.
1981 Yanmar 2GM, 2-cyl. 15 HP diesel. FWC (heat exchanger replaced 2010).1" SS shaft swinging a 2-blade bronze prop. Racor filter. Unknown engine hours, professionally serviced and maintained annually.
Fuel: 15 gallons in an aluminum tank, cleaned 2018
Water: 40 gallons in 2 tanks, located under V-berth and stbd settee.
Holding: 10-gallon polypropylene tank.
12v DC system, electrical panel, volt meter, Two Deep-cycle batteries (new 2014), Nav. Lights, cabin lights. 30 amp. shore power cord.

Sleeps 4 below. Aft of rope locker is the forward cabin with V-berth with filler piece with storage below, shelves outboard, and cabintop hatch for light and ventilation. Bi-fold door for privacy. Next aft to port is enclosed head that contains a sink w/hot & cold water and pull-out faucet for shower. A hinged teak seat pulls down over Raritan marine toilet. Across to starboard is a large hanging locker.
Main cabin is midship with 6'1" headroom. Dining table & seats (with storage below) for 4 converts to a 6'5" double berth. To starboard is a 6'5" settee with storage below and outboard. The galley in the aft cabin consists of the SS sink to starboard w/hot & cold water, and a 3-burner propane stove with oven. Formica counter. To port is a deep ice box. Storage outboard and in lockers and drawers below.
The entire cabin is attractively finished with varnished teak and teak-veneered plywood. Fixed cabin ports port and starboard provide ample light and the Dorade vents and hatches provide good ventilation.
The deep cockpit is protected by high coamings, and lockers below seats provide large storage areas. Just aft of the pedestal is the rudder post to which an emergency tiller can be used. Wide side decks with life lines all around the boat provide safe access to and from the foredeck.
