Owner’s comments: This is one of the original 1980 Hunter 37 Cherubini designed cutters. It is a very small group of sailors that know how good a boat this is. Warren Luhrs hired John Cherubini to design the early Hunter line, from a time when the industry getting ready to explode, otherwise known as the "Good Old Day’s" for the sailboat industry, which was all pretty BASIC, until the 37 cutters came along, there was kind of a "WOW" reaction. This was a real deal cruising boat, far more substantial than her sisters. ‘Still is. This is a well preserved and maintained John Cherubini designed Hunter 37.5 Cutter. She has traditional charm with modern efficiencies. She’s a comfortable blue-water cruiser that sleeps up to 6 people. She has 6’4” headroom in the main salon. The self-bailing cockpit has pedestal steering with auto pilot and seats 6-8 people comfortably. The interior offers a mix of exotic woods including a teak and holly sole to give the cabin a warm glow. Flush-mounted hatches and 6 port lights allow natural light to entire cabin. There’s great interior space and storage with many enclosed lockers. The main salon has a drop-leaf table that seats 6. There are port and starboard settees of which the starboard converts into a double. The boat carries two separate water tanks. The U-shaped galley is on the starboard side near the companionway and features a double SS sink, top-loading refrigerator/freezer, lots of galley storage and counter space as well as drawers. The stove was removed in 2016 and replaced with an Elfa Mesh closet – 3 sliding SS basket-drawer unit for additional storage. Cooking is done either on a 2-burner electric hot plate or the stern rail mounted MAGMA BBQ grill. There’s a navigation station directly across from the galley. The 2-person private aft guest stateroom is separated from the galley by a sliding teak door. There’s a mirror and additional storage lockers too. The forward V-berth cabin provides privacy for 2 on a 75” berth. The large head with separate shower, starboard between the main salon and forward cabin, has a sliding teak door with single vanity to port. On deck there are 11 opening side ports, tinted forward slider companionway hatch and 3 middeck hatches. The deck surface has been refreshed with new Kiwi GRIP Nonskid coating in 2018. The sails are in excellent condition. There has been many upgrades since 2014 to present.
