"Jennie Rose" is an original owner Cherubini. One of the very popular 44 foot (50 foot length overall) ketches that were designed by John Cherubini. Her interior was custom designed and built by her current owner, and she has many custom design features such as a midship mounted Northern Lights 5kw generator and central A/C, a unique daggerboard/ keel where she has a shoal draft of 4'11" and an offshore sailing draft of 8'.
The Cherubini 44 is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful and finely crafted ocean going sailing yachts. Her cutter ketch rig allows for many sail configurations for any possible sea state. The Cherubini has elegant lines starting from her proud bow sprit back to her elegant teak trimmed rudder. Her full keel gives her a smooth ride in any ocean.
This boat has extensively cruised Florida and the Bahamas as well as won muliple regattas including the Miami Key West Race and the Columbus Day Regatta.
Current owner purchased the vessel new and had it trucked to Miami from the Cherubini factory. It was purchased without an interior and the owner spent 4 years finishing her. The sails on board are the original sails and they are still in decent shape. Over the past few years, all of the chain plates and standing rigging have been replaced except the lower mizen ones. She has a Perkins 4154 that has never needed anything but a few parts and regular service. The Northern Lights 5kw generator has been rebuilt a few times over the years. It was last rebuilt in 2017. It was placed in a custom built box in the cabin next to the main mast to keep the weight centerline.
Other custom features include a 70 gallon water tank, a custom epoxy fuel tank which also holds 70 gallons, hand laid teak and Mahogany floors, Mahogany bulkheads, forward roller furling sail, 65lb plow anchor mated to a electric windless, 200 amp batteries, Max Feathering Prop, and a centerboard keel combination where the baot draws under 5' for shallow water sailing and 8' for offshore sailing.
"Jenny Rose" has very basic electronics since she has only been sailed locally for the past few years. She is equipped with a VHF, TV, Water Heater, and other none navigational equipment. The only real updated navigation equipment is a recently purchased Garmin autopilot.
