Cor Meum, formerly Inverness, was built as a racing yawl in 1963 for the Commodore of the New York Yacht Club. Designed by Sparkman and Stevens, her hull is double planked mahogany with laminated white oak frames. Her keel stem and stern are solid oak. All fastenings are bronze. She won the Newport to Bermuda race in 1964, and more recently the Antigua Yacht Regatta in 2000.
She underwent an extensive refit in 2004 – new frame heels, new deck, new mainship hatches, new custom portholes, new winches. Engine (a Beta diesel 75 HP) was replaced in 2010.
She winters in a local river with spars down. Even without her masts she is breathtaking – a boat and a work of art, a symbiosis of form and function, a still-beating piece of maritime history.
Available for inspection near Waukegan IL. Absolutely no offer will go unconsidered.
