Below decks the Elling E4 is very roomy and open feeling. When your inside the yacht it feels like you are aboard a 60 ft yacht due to the layout. There is very comfortable couch in the salon with a TV that pops out at the push of a button. The finishes are literally perfect, showing the attention to detail with the hand made yacht. Quality control is second to none on this yacht!
The galley is very spacious with abundant counter space and views from the opening port holes ensure the cook is comfortable too. The galley includes a four burner cook top, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge and separate freezer. Corian counter tops blend in perfectly. Wine storage racks are built in to the floor storage.
The whole aft part of the yacht is the full beam master stateroom allowing a walk-around bed with extra room around it. You don't feel cramped even with 2 people. This aft stateroom rivals most bedrooms in houses. Elling even put heated floors in the bathrooms so when you get out of the shower on a cold day your feet don't get cold.
She is powered by a single Cummins QSB6.7 as well as a wing Volvo motor with saildrive and folding propeller. The "Get home" engine has all of its own systems allowing it to be completely separate from the main engine. Because of the single engine configuration the center of gravity is very low making this one of the only yachts that is self righting. This puts into a whole other league regarding safety..
With her 480 hp fly by wire Cummins engine she has a cruising range of over 1500 nm. E4's have crossed the Atlantic!! At 7.5 knots fuel consumption is 1 liter per nautical mile. At 16 kts in semi displacement mode fuel consumption is 3.8 liters per nautical mile giving a range of 400 nautical miles. The Aqua Drive thrust bearings on the drive shaft ensure a vibration free journey!
