The upgrades, maintenence and detail that have been completed on this engine is absolutely the best I've ever seen. Details such as whenever the boat sits for any period of time the owner flushes the engine with fresh water, then removes the pencil zinc on the after cooler and completely drains the cooler. He also removes the water pump impeller inside the upgraded water pump so that it doesn't sit inside the housing allowing the bent rubber fingers to develop a "memory" and/or stick to the pump casing. The gear cooler was replaced with an upgraded copper/nickel version. The alternator was upgraded to a Delco-Remy 28si which has two fans and known to be able to run hotter, provide 100 amps at high idle and offer longer service. The flywheel/transmission coupler was replaced with an upgraded version. You can happily eat a meal in the engine room where you won't find a drop of oil, fuel or a fleck of rubber belt dust. All important equipment items are labeled with a "normal operating temperature" sticker. This makes engine room checks easy during operation, and using a laser temperature gun, can give confidence that everything is running correctly. The list of this kind of attention to detail can go on and on.
