270 SHAMROCK CC OPEN DIESEL/SINGLE 315HP YANMAR (543 Hours) with TRAILER
Powerboat Guide Review
The Shamrock Open Center Console was first introduced in 2000 and the 270 Open was one of just a few straight inboard center consoles produced in those or recent recent years. Nothing beats inboard power for day in, day out dependability and this is a market that Shamrock dominated for many years. This boat is "built like a rock"- overbuilt would be a better description and the fit and finish is very good. The 270's console is large with plenty of space for flush mounting electronics. Under the console is a stand up head compartment with head sink and shower. Features include 2 in deck insulated, removable fishboxes, transom bait prep station, raw water washdown, gunnel rod holders, cockpit rod storage molded bow pulpit and a beefy transom door with gate. A heavy boat with a comfortable ride, the 270 will cruise in the 20 knot range and top out in the high 20's and with her low hour 315 HP Yanmar diesel, fuel consumption is minimal.
The Shamrock 270 Open has a bow area that features a cavernous rope locker and bow pulpit with a roller and optional winch. The center helm features a footrest, deluxe instrumentation, dual binnacle controls, a hinged panel for easy access to dash wiring, and a large open dash area for mounting electronics. The spacious cockpit area features a large insulated fish box, coaming bolsters, and engine box seating with storage. The forward deck has a large insulated, removable fish box with macerator and overboard discharge, plus a 225-quart cooler. The transom has a 32-gallon baitwell, a swing-out transom door with heavy duty stainless steel hinges, and a flip-up gate. The bait prep station features a freshwater sink, cutting board, and tackle storage. Fresh and raw water washdown spigots and rod storage are located under the aft gunwales. Located inside the center console is a fully enclosed marine head with shower, sink and opening portside window. The sound insulated engine box lifts easily to accommodate engine inspections.
