MAJOR PRICE REDUCTION - BEST BOAT AT AN INCREDIBLE VALUE!
There are few times that a boat is truly turn key and pampered by her owners and this is one of them. Every effort has been made to update this boat with many valuable features like:
Full cockpit enclosure, custom stern seats and rail, solar panels and arch, Monitor windvane steering with swing gate allowing access to swim platform, 12 gph electronically controlled watermaker, diesel DHW and cabin heater, 16,000 BTU A/C (with reverse air heat), 3.5kW diesel genset, increased custom tankage, new mast and standing rigging, custom nesting sailing dinghy and more!
The Saga 43 is a highly sought after world cruising vessel from the hand of renowned designer Bob Perry. Key design features make the Saga 43 ideal for both coastal and blue water cruising. A narrower hull form make her very sea kindly and easy to drive, allowing for less wetted surface and fast light air sailing. The rig is tall and powerful aiding in the performance sailing, yet easy to use with twin headsails on roller furlers and all sail controls led aft into the cockpit. Choose the genoa for light air upwind sailing or heavy air reaching, or use the non-overlapping and self tacking jib when sailing to weather in heavy air. It has often been said that the Saga 43 is the sailor's boat, one that provides great satisfaction putting miles under her keel quickly and easily!
The large cockpit is great for entertaining and daysailing but with ample drainage and long (7'+) seats it is also perfect for passagemaking. With a draft of only 6' 0'' you will not be restricted in places like the Bahamas and other shallow water cruising grounds, while still having more than enough stability to make the boat sail to weather exceptionally.
The interior immediately impresses with a classic and rich feel to the American Cherry cabinetry and finishing. This particular Saga 43 features a forward master stateroom, large open salon with convertible table, a sea going galley, spacious head with separate shower, and an athwartships extra large aft berth, part of which can be used as storage with custom canvas insert.
The boat has been prepared thoroughly and intelligently for cruising. All systems have been well thought out with many spares included.
This is definitely a must see boat!

The relatively narrow hull has a maximized waterline length that also maintains interior space. The ultra-fine, low drag entry angle is very easily driven through the water and chop requiring far less sail area. That makes for less strain on the rig, lower sheet and winch loads. The Saga 43 will require no more effort to sail than the average 38 footer while its dynamic waterline length of over 41' performs more like a 50 footer when underway.
The Saga 43 has tandem roller furling units for the headsails but is a Solent rig, not a cutter. The inner furler handles the self-tacking jib for windward work. A custom Harken traveler on the foredeck reduces tacking up a narrow channel to a mere turn of the wheel. After bearing away to a reach, the crew simply rolls out the genoa on the outer furler to increase the horsepower downwind. The jib is then furled out of the way. The resulting forward shift in the center of pressure maintains a light balanced helm pressure and superior control. In light air and at deeper downwind angles, an asymmetrical spinnaker may be flown from the stainless steel bowsprit. Mainsail hoisting and reefing chores are taken care of from inside the safety of the cockpit with with a push of a button on the two speed, self-tailing electric winch. Mainsail handling is made easier with a Harken "Batt-Car" system.
The Saga 43 has several on-deck innovations. The stainless steel bowsprit supports the dual anchor rollers and gets the anchors clear of her near-plumb bow. Storage wells at the mast base hide away halyard tails and winch handles. Further aft, the helm seat and another set of coaming wells store miscellaneous small items clearing the inevitable clutter in the cockpit. Excess lines and sheets also have dedicated cleats for storage. The cockpit features 7' 9" sculpted seats suitable for sleeping under the stars. The stern features a walkout transom which not only provides for excellent drainage, but is also practical when boarding or swimming. Molded-in foot braces and a beefy 2" SS salon table frame keep the crew in place even when heeled. The "stealth" bridge deck has been designed so that while it will keeps water out of the cabin, it does not hinder entry below to the cabin.
As you enter the companionway you're struck by the gorgeous hand crafted, hand rubbed, and satin varnished cherry wood joinery throughout. The steps are wide and Treadmaster covered. For safety there are multiple overhead handholds as you walk forward.
A large guest stateroom is to port of the companionway with a double berth, drawers, and hanging locker. Forward of the berth is a well thought out head with multiple cupboards and all molded surfaces for easy cleaning and separate shower that makes a great wet locker on a passage. The shower and head areas also have molded-in non-skid floor surfaces for safety.
The spacious galley is to starboard of the companionway with loads of storage, great counter space and full size double sinks. The galley contains a large freezer/ refrigerator with 12V refrigeration, a microwave, 3 burner Force 10 stove, drawers and cabinets. Forward of the galley is a working navigation area and main panel. The main salon has a centerline drop-leaf table with settees to port and starboard. The table is a beautiful cherry with drawers and bottle storage inside. There is plenty of storage outboard behind the settees along with lockers and bookshelves above. Forward of the salon is a large owner's centreline berth stateroom with an inner spring mattress and plenty of room to move around. The berth is 6' 6" long with six drawers and storage below as well as hanging lockers port and starboard. All berth hanging lockers are cedar lined. A vanity and sink face the aft bulkhead. A combination of dorade vents, multiple opening ports and hatches provide excellent ventilation even in the tropics.
Padeyes for jacklines are provided in the cockpit and on deck. Lifelines and rails are 30" high and mast rails are provided for crew support while working at the mast. A captive retention pin is provided to positively lock hatchboards in place. Identical high volume manual bilge pumps are mounted below the helm seat and below the main saloon sole. The main saloon berths are equipped with lee cloths for off-watch sleeping. The galley stove has a stainless steel guard bar to prevent the cook from failing into a hot stove and the galley belt is provided for cooking underway.
