SKI RACING DESIGN and ORIGIN: This is a high performance ski-racer converted to pleasure use, not a typical ski-boat nor a fishing vessel. Read the entire ad for all relevant information regarding this very unique boat.
Martie Wells of Riverside, CA built these 21 foot hulls for ski-racing from Long Beach to Catalina in the Formula 1 class (26 miles each way of open ocean). You won't find a better built boat in this size. Ours was built for speed and converted to pleasure and multi-function use, including tubing, ocean skiing, and in-shore fishing (casting and trolling) with its portable pole holders (4) and drain thru flooring. This is not a classic fishing boat but can be used as one.
Not inexpensive, as ALL the following working components are new during the past year: with less than five (5) hours Michigan Marine 5700 96-07 Vortex engine is still under warranty (rated 330 hp w EFI, before supercharger); electronics components and harness; Holly EFI HP Pro ECU with learning capability (with remote on-board computer controller); powder coated aluminum intake and exhaust manifolds with wet exhaust thru transom with mufflers; Monitor Marine closed cooling system with heat exchanger and radiator style plumbing for antifreeze; and high volume fresh water pickup to feed high volume water pump to feed the heat exchanger, supercharger inter-cooler, and wet exhaust.
The Procharger M1SC self contained oiling centrifugal supercharger runs 5-7 lbs boost thru a new water-to-air inter-cooler (yields approximately 475hp at 5 lbs boost). The upgraded Mercury Racing twin prop Blackhawk outdrive with Bravo heavy duty gear-set has three sets of stainless steel props: 27, 29 or 31, for fishing, skiing or high speed runs.
In spite of its 371 total hours on the hull, this left-hand drive hull is in pristine condition and all gauges are fully operational: GPS speedo, electric tach, fuel pressure, dual thermocouple exhaust temps, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, battery voltage, vacuum, boost/fuel level, mechanical outdrive position indicator, and new Lowrance Elite sonar with downscan/gps/fish finder. There are A/F ratio warning lamps, high water temp alarm, a knock sensor, an engine pre-luber with a low pressure warning horn, and mechanical indicator for power trim, and Dana planes stabilizers. The drivers seat is adjustable fore-aft, and the co-pilot seat is swivel and the full width bench will seat 4 adults comfortably. All upholstery is in very good condition: no tears, or punctures or rips or thread failure. A brand NEW 7'6" long by 54" tall bimini will shield the sun and still allow for standup fishing. The bimini is all stainless with support poles front and rear and Sunbrella fabric with cover and 10 year warranty. There is a full cockpit cover as well as a full storage cover. For entertainment there is a skip free cd/radio player and twin Bose speakers plus pair of Pioneer speakers.
All safety gear is included, including VHF handheld radio, twin compasses (one electric, one mag), digital depth gauge, hand-held and on-board power fire extinguishers, automatic bilge pump, retractable navigation lights, popup anchor light, flush mounted cleats, pop-up mooring buttons, several sizes and configurations of bumpers, and toss-able flotation device plus all Coast Guard required equipment. The pilot has a mechanical foot throttle, dual ram hydraulic steering, and drive trim which is activated by rocker switches on each of steering wheel spokes, as well as 50 gallon refillable water ballast tank in front to smooth out the rougher waves. The 70 gallon gas tank provides for extended range, and she runs on regular pump gas of 91/92 octane. All this comes with custom built all aluminum double axle trailer less than three years old.
