1985 Tayana 55 is designed by the Dutch Naval Architect and designer. Pieter Beeldsnijder, who is recognised throughout the world as a premier designer. TheTayana 55 is designed and built for serious cruising. The hull is one of the most durable, versatile, safest and best performing hulls in its class. The wide beam of 4.9 metres easily accommodates this three cabin layout; and few if any yachts of its size can carry its three cabin layout with a full stand up engine room and workbench so effortlessly.
The philosophy at Tayana yachts is, sailing should be a pleasure. This yacht can be easily handled by a cruising couple as the current owners have completed 40000 offshore miles with just the two of them. The dodger hardtop arrangement is fantastic for keeping out the elements with great visibility, and protection while sailing offshore or coastal cruising...

For its size, the Tayana 55 is perhaps the most successful yacht in the world, with over 80 boats built to date. The Tayana 55 provides the space and sailing performance of most yachts over 65 feet. The Tayana 55 even features a walk-in engine room. The spacious galley and storage capacity equates to long-term cruising in style. Last years Round the World Cruising Rally was won by a Tayana 55. The 1995 Caribbean 1500 was won by a Tayana 55 as well. Deck space that seems endless and a functional, low silhouette give the Tayana 55 its distinctive look.
