Alter Ego is a 1979 built Compass 34. Built in Denmark, she is a fast reliable and safe sailing yacht that offers 6 berths in two cabins with 6ft headroom in the saloon. This yacht had a new engine fitted in 2006 and is currently ashore for the winter.

This Compass 34 offers 6 berths in 2 cabins with approx. 6’ standing headroom. The upholstery is in a crème vinyl. There is double V berth forward, a single berth in the saloon on the starboard berth and the dinette covers to a double berth and there is a single pilot berth.
She is fitted with a 2 burner gas hob with oven and grill. Pressurised hot water is provided by both the engine via a calorifier and 240v immersion heater. The Heads has a marine toilet with a hand basin and shower with hot and cold water.
The Compass 34 has a Yanmar YGM30, 3 cylinder diesel engine (located aft) with direct cooling that was fitted in 2006. The engine is linked to a shaft driven 3 blade fixed propeller. Control is by a single lever morse control. The cutlass bearing was last changed in 2014. The last engine service was carried out in July 2017 by Nautic Service Yanmar-Calais. The recorded engine hours are 4100.
There is a stainless steel fuel tank with a capacity of 120 litres, giving a range of 240nm.She has a cruising speed of 6 knots with a maximum speed of 7.5 knots.
2 x 12 volt batteries (1 x engine plus 1 x domestic and Anchor winch) all new in 2015. All batteries are charged by the engine alternator, wind generator and battery charger via a 240 volt shore power system.
A masthead Bermudan Sloop rig with keel stepped Seldon Alloy Mast and boom. Stainless Steel standing rigging (new 2016). The running rigging material is Terylene also new in 2016. Slab mainsail reefing with a furling headsail. Manual adjustable backstay.
The Hull (painted 2012) and deck (painted non slip) are of a Fibreglass construction.The hull is reinforced on the insode by a steel frame which ties in with the mast step and chain plates, so she is an especially sturdy construction. Cast Iron Fin keel. Wheel steering to a spade hung rudder. The boat has only had 2 previous owners, and has been in her current ownership since 2006. She was last out of the water over the winter of 2016/17 and in April 2017 she was antifouled and anodes changed
