"Jessamine" is an all GRP version of the popular Twister. The last survey was in 2000, it is still on the boat and is apparently very complimentary about the construction and overall condition.. All the recommendations made were acted on. That was 17 years ago but she has lived in a warm climate since then and has been ashore for most of that time. Her previous owner lived on board for much of the time and in Summer cruised the Algarve coast. She is located in a boatyard not far from Faro airport.
The engine has been regularly serviced. The oil is clean and even under load produces no smoke. The engine electrics are fine but the service battery may be due for replacement. The lighting circuits, Simrad, Navtext and echo sounder all work but the the VHF and the GPS need rewiring into the switch panel. The hull is clean and could be anti fouled in a couple of hours.
The mainsail is in good order but the Genoa needs a panel stitched in down the leech where there has been some UV deterioration. There are sail makers on the coast who can deal with this. The spray hood is old and nearing the end of its life.
The boat is structurally sound but it is 45 years old and is unlikely to appeal to anyone but a practical and experienced sailor who recognises it for what it is.
