Boats.com Creates World's Largest Database of Information About Sail and Power Boats

Premier Online Hub for the Boating Community and Marine Industry Acquires BoatShow Databank from Ovation Digital Productions and Exclusive License to The PowerBoat Guide From American Marine Publishing

MIAMI BOAT SHOW, MIAMI, Feb. 17, 2000--Boats.com today announced its acquisition of the assets of Canadian-based Ovation Digital Productions, publisher of BoatShow.com and BoatShow on CD-ROM, the boating consumer's most extensive tools for information about more than 2,200 production and custom sailboats and power boats.

Additionally, the company announced it has acquired the exclusive license to The PowerBoat Guide (www.powerboatguide.com), the most comprehensive source of powerboat information available, with information on more than 1,500 models of power boats. Taken together, these two agreements give boats.com visitors access to the world's largest database of information about sail and power boats.

"Ovation Digital Productions and The PowerBoat Guide add deep and broad digital information assets to boats.com's rapidly expanding offering," said Rolando Esteverena, CEO of boats.com. "On the heels of our recent acquisition of Yachtworld.com, the most visited marine site on the Internet, these two agreements demonstrate rapid progress toward our goal of providing new commercial opportunities for the marine industry while enhancing the boating consumer's experience."

Founded in 1994, Ovation Digital Productions is widely recognized in the boating community as the most comprehensive source for obtaining images and detailed specifications about sail and power boats. With its successful CD-ROM series and website, www.BoatShow.com, Ovation Digital Productions provides the boating consumer with a comprehensive and easily searchable source of information designed to streamline the boat purchasing decision.

The PowerBoat Guide is the most comprehensive presentation of powerboat information available, featuring photos, specifications, floor plans, and retail values about nearly every popular motor yacht, sportfisherman, trawler, and family cruiser built in the last 20 years in the U.S., as well as popular Asian and European models.

Under terms of the agreement with Ovation Digital Productions, Ovation will be retained by boats.com and manage and operate the company and the BoatShow.com site as part of the boats.com network. Ovation Digital Productions will be responsible for maintaining and expanding its database exclusively for the use of boats.com, and for maintaining and expanding the value and influence of BoatShow.com within the marine community.
